Inspired by the Digital India initiative
launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India,
Sri Narendra Modi, on 1 July 2015,
Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College continues to
lead the digital transformation of the electoral process.
The college successfully introduced a digital voting system
for the Students’ Union Election during the
2017–18 session, when students cast their
votes physically using ten computers.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, elections could not be
conducted during the sessions 2019–20 and
2020–21. The fully online election process
was subsequently established, making DHSK College a pioneer
in digital student elections.

Complete Online Process
The entire election process was conducted digitally
through the college LMS platform, including
nomination submission, scrutiny,
campaigning guidelines, voting and counting
.
The system was designed to save time and resources,
enhance transparency, eliminate malpractices and
ensure peaceful polling conditions on campus.
Election Day Timeline

Conducted in the presence of candidates
and their agents.

Official Polling
Students voted using their verified
mobile credentials.
After 2:00 PM
Counting & Results
Votes were counted and results were declared
within approximately 30 minutes.
26 Candidates • 10 Contested Portfolios
A total of 26 students contested across 10 portfolios,
while 4 portfolios remained uncontested. The election
reflected active student participation and a strong
democratic spirit.
